Gemma Smith | Host and Voice Actor

Hi, I'm Gemma Smith

Creative Producer + Host

NYC-based creative producer and host building community through creativity, connection and cats.

About Me

From live broadcasts to podcast chats, I love creating authentic connections that engage audiences and celebrate stories.

Performer and Producer

Since 2018, I've produced the Catbaret!, NYC's cat-themed variety show featuring comedy, music and purr-lesque. And, under my stage persona, Gemma Stone, I host Reali-Tease Burlesque, a parody where reality TV meets the art of the tease. My work has been featured in the New York Times, Time Out NY, AMNY and more.

On-Camera Host and Spokesperson

Connecting with audiences is my specialty. As an on-air spokesperson in the animal welfare space, I’ve made 15+ live broadcast appearances — with kittens — including Cheddar News, Sherri, Amazon Live, Pix 11 New York Living, Fox Weather and New York Live.

Podcast Host

In my award-winning podcast, "Tails and Tassels," I interview burlesque and nightlife performers about their craft, their cats and the creative lives they’re building. Available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and beyond.

Let's work together!

Whether you need an emcee, on-camera host, spokesperson or creative collaborator, I bring energy, warmth and professionalism to every stage and screen.

A musical interlude and a literary interlude round out the evening.

Tails & Tassels Wins Two Certificates of Excellence!

We're thrilled to share that Tails & Tassels has been awarded two Certificates of Excellence in the Cat Writers' Association's 2026 Annual Communications Contest! This global competition celebrates outstanding cat-focused work across every kind of media, and it's an honor to be recognized by fellow feline content creators.

Both wins make the podcast a contender for the Muse© Medallion, the CWA's highest honor, which will be presented at the Awards Banquet in Dallas/Fort Worth on November 7. Paws crossed! 🐾

Thank you to every guest, listener, and fellow cat lover who's made this show what it is.
